Head Bartender

About the job

Do you enjoy leading by example, working with people and keeping things organized? We're looking for a Head Bartender to oversee the bar side of our venue and lead a team of approximately 7 bartenders/barbacks.

In this role, you'll make sure everything runs efficiently - for both our guests and your team. You’ll be responsible for scheduling, leading and supporting your team during shifts, and helping create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

You'll also act as the main point of contact between the bartenders and the management team. It's important that you're a good communicator, proactive, and able to keep your team motivated and focused.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the Bar team consistently delivers excellent drinks, service and hospitality.

• Create and manage the weekly schedules for bartenders and barbacks.

• Oversee stock takes and keep on top of buy-in and waste.

• Monitor and order necessary stock and supplies to keep operations running smoothly.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment.

• Take initiative to improve efficiency, teamwork, and overall workplace satisfaction.

• Recruit, onboard, and train new bartenders and barbacks.

• Work closely with our Beverage Director, Sebastian Cichowlas to create & implement new menus.

• Keep all team members informed, aligned, and up to speed on procedures and updates.

• Oversee the development of each bartender/barback through training, regular feedback, and evaluation meetings.

• Act as the main point of contact, supporting their well-being and engagement.

• Participate in regular meetings with the management team to align on goals and updates.

About you

• You’re passionate and knowledgeable about hospitality, service, and cocktails.

• You have at least 1~2 year(s) of cocktail bartending experience.

• Ideally, you have experience in bar management.

• You are a problem solver, a quick thinker and a real team player.

• You're a good leader - and you always lead by example!

• Your communication is strong, you make decisive choices, and you bring clarity to those around you.

• You have the ability to thrive under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• You adapt well to different people and situations and are open to learning from others.

• You're based in the Netherlands - preferably in Amsterdam.

• You're flexible (in terms of working hours, not yoga! ;)).
