Head Bartender
About the job
Do you enjoy leading by example, working with people and keeping things organized? We're looking for a Head Bartender to oversee the bar side of our venue and lead a team of approximately 7 bartenders/barbacks.
In this role, you'll make sure everything runs efficiently - for both our guests and your team. You’ll be responsible for scheduling, leading and supporting your team during shifts, and helping create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
You'll also act as the main point of contact between the bartenders and the management team. It's important that you're a good communicator, proactive, and able to keep your team motivated and focused.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the Bar team consistently delivers excellent drinks, service and hospitality.
Create and manage the weekly schedules for bartenders and barbacks.
Oversee stock takes and keep on top of buy-in and waste.
Monitor and order necessary stock and supplies to keep operations running smoothly.
Maintain a clean, organised, and professional working environment.
Take initiative to improve efficiency, teamwork, and overall workplace satisfaction.
Recruit, onboard, and train new bartenders and barbacks.
Work closely with our Beverage Director, Sebastian Cichowlas to create & implement new menus.
Keep all team members informed, aligned, and up to speed on procedures and updates.
Oversee the development of each bartender/barback through training, regular feedback, and evaluation meetings.
Act as the main point of contact, supporting their well-being and engagement.
Participate in regular meetings with the management team to align on goals and updates.
About you
You’re passionate and knowledgeable about hospitality, service, and cocktails.
You have at least 1~2 year(s) of cocktail bartending experience.
Ideally, you have experience in bar management.
You are a problem solver, a quick thinker and a real team player.
You're a good leader - and you always lead by example!
Your communication is strong, you make decisive choices, and you bring clarity to those around you.
You have the ability to thrive under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
You adapt well to different people and situations and are open to learning from others.
You're based in the Netherlands - preferably in Amsterdam.
You're flexible (in terms of working hours, not yoga! ;)).
